The Department of Linguistics at Yale University is proud to announce the
Proceedings of the Workshop on the Sound Systems of Mexico and Central America
(SSMCA). The papers in this volume deal with the phonetics and phonology of a
diverse set of indigenous languages spoken in Mesoamerica and Northern Mexico.
Topics include stress, lexical tone, intonation, the syntax-prosody interface,
and various issues in segmental phonology. The volume includes articles in
both English and Spanish.

Al Departamento de Lingüística de la Universidad de Yale le complace anunciar
Las Actas del Taller Sobre los Sistemas de Sonido de México y Centroamérica
(SSMCA). Los artículos de este volumen se tratan de la fonética y la fonología
de un conjunto diverso de idiomas indígenas que se hablan en Mesoamérica y el
norte de México. Los temas incluyen el acento, el tono léxico, la entonación,
la interfaz entre la sintaxis y la prosodia, y varios asuntos dentro de la
fonología segmental. El volumen incluye artículos escritos en el inglés y el
español.
