Call for Papers:
The purpose of the general session is to provide an opportunity to rethink traditional topics on Case/case and agreement in recent minimalist theorizing, which may include, but need not be limited to, the correlation between structural Case and agreement, licensing mechanism for Case/case, crosslinguistic variation in the directionality of Agree for agreement and the availability of multiple Case and agreement or of non-canonical type of Case and agreement, and so forth. We encourage submissions touching on any of these topics.
Equal consideration will be given to papers from all areas of generative grammar, which may include syntactic theory, syntax-semantics interface, syntax-morphology interface, syntax-phonology interface, syntax acquisition, and any other syntax-related interests. Applicants for presentation in the general session must submit their proposal by April 3 (Friday), 2015.
The Workshop on Head Movement aims to discuss various issues in head movement, including the motivation of head movement, the similarities and differences between head movement and XP movement, crosslinguistic variations in head movement, locality constraints on head movement, the consequences of the Feature Inheritance theory on head movement (especially T-to-C movement), and the relation, if any, between Agree and head movement.
