The "Sr Manager, Assessment Development" is responsible for defining the
strategy for providing assessment to be used by EF Kids & Teens centers for
courses provided by EF Labs for Kids and Teens. He/she will realise this
strategy by managing assessment writers / item writers and planning and
evaluating department activities.

Short term focus

-Work with the Product Development Director and Publishing Manager to define a
process for creating assessment materials using EF Labs for Kids and Teens
resources.
- Maintain quality within the assessment team by defining and enforcing clear
standards for assessment creation and evaluation; identifying, analysing and
resolving issues with assessment creation; recommending and implementing
process improvements.
- Work with the Product Development Director and Teenage Learners Product
Manager to define an assessment strategy for the new Trailblazers product. 
This should include but is not limited to achievement tests and a placement
test for this course.
- Provide training and support for content writers and item writers who are
producing assessment for the new Trailblazers product.

Long term focus

- Recruit, orient and train an assessment team and provide opportunities for
personal growth.
- Develop and maintain a broad and up-to-date professional knowledge by
reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks;
identifying and participating in events, conferences and societies related to
assessment and English language learning.
- Establish long term strategic goals for delivering assessment within EF Kids
& Teens by conducting research within target markets; maintaining and sharing
current industry knowledge and practices; working with regional operations
teams to identify needs and opportunities.
- Accomplish strategic goals for EF Labs for Kids and Teens by working with
the project and content teams to conceptualise and specify new products to be
used by EF Kids & Teens centers.
- Provide a resources and support for school operations teams so that they are
equipped to efficiently and consistently deliver high quality assessment.
- Evaluate progress and placement test usage, reliability and validity through
both qualitative and quantitative means and identify areas or items which
require further training support or content revisions.
- Lead a working group within EF Labs for Kids & Teens to conceptualize,
specify and realize a robust and reliable placement test for young and teenage
learners.

Requirements

- Advanced degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or Linguistics
- 3+ years’ experience in learning material development, preferably for online
learners
experience managing writers and editors 
- Outstanding familiarity with standard references for the development of
syllabuses, for example, the Common European Framework of Reference for
Languages and other Council of Europe publications
- Experience in instructional design an advantage
- Creativity, enthusiasm, energy and team spirit
- Strong computer skills and the ability to work well in a technology
environment
- Evidence of leadership, innovative curriculum design, and materials
development
- Excellent organizational skills and project management experience
- Outstanding writing and editing ability
