The COMET Conference began in 2003 at Cardiff University (Wales, UK). Following its initial success, it has been established as an interdisciplinary and international event.
The conference aims to bring together scholars from different disciplinary backgrounds involving various healthcare specialties and the human and social sciences. Special emphasis will be on the dissemination of ongoing research in discourse/communication studies and practical ethics which engages directly with healthcare practitioners.
COMET is closely linked with Communication & Medicine, a quarterly journal (Equinox, London) with a view of bringing leading research to a wider readership. All conference presenters will have the opportunity to submit their work for publication to an issue of the journal dedicated to the conference.
