Meeting Description:

The Białystok Legal English Centre (BLEC) is happy to announce its second international conference: Language and Law – Traditions, Trends and Perspectives which will take place at the Faculty of Law, University of Białystok, Poland. 

The conference aspires to provide a forum for sharing both theoretical and empirical findings, as well as pedagogical practices on the broad topic of Legal English. It is hoped that the contributions will cover issues concerning research traditions, current trends and perspectives in the subject area.

Registration: By 24 March 2015

The conference fee i.e. 210 EUR or 850 PLN: includes two-day conference programme, publication of papers, accommodation in double room with breakfast (for 10/11 June and 11/12 June), coffee breaks, lunch on Thursday and Friday and conference social event (11 June).

Cancellation Policy:

100% of the conference fee is reimbursed if the cancellation is notified no later than 10 May 2015. 
50% of the conference fee is reimbursed if the cancellation is notified no later than 30 May 2015. 
No conference fees are reimbursed if the cancellation is notified after 1 June 2015.
Please note all bank charges are to be borne by the participant.

3. Legal translation and court interpreting:

- Issues in translation and interpretation
- Teaching and learning legal translation and court interpreting
- Sworn translators and interpreters in legal proceedings

4. Teaching law in English

- Team teaching
- Students’ inadequacies in the specialist subject
