 Call for Book Chapters

Book Title: Advances in Cultural Linguistics

Editor: Professor Farzad Sharifian, Monash University

Publisher: Springer, Cultural Linguistics Series

Springer (the second biggest publisher in the world) has just launched a book series with the title of “Cultural Linguistics," with Farzad Sharifian as Series Editor. We are now calling for chapter proposals for the first book of the series with the title of Advances in Cultural Linguistics. We would therefore like to invite contributions to this planned volume with a topic that would be a good fit for the book. If you are willing to contribute, please try to contextualise your contribution within cultural linguistics. Please visit (http://profiles.arts.monash.edu.au/farzad-sharifian/cultural-linguistics/) for a link to various resources that we have put online relevant to cultural linguistics.

Proposals for book chapters should be sent to farzad.sharifian at monash.edu

Objective:

Cultural linguistics has made significant advancements in recent years, including having a dedicated journal (the International Journal of Language and Culture), and its first international conference to be held in 2016 in Italy. It is therefore timely to have an edited volume dedicated to showcasing recent/current advances in this newly emerged multidisciplinary area of research. Contributions may have a theoretical orientation or be empirical in nature, or else contribute to applied cultural linguistics.

Important Dates:

- Proposals Submission Deadline (300-500 words): October 1, 2015
- Full Chapters Due (between 6000 to 10,000 words): March 15, 2016
- Submission Date (to the publisher): October 15, 2016

The guidelines for the book chapters will be provided in due course.
