Meeting Description:
The Department of Business Administration of the Technological Educational Institute of Epirus, comprising the study tracks Applied Foreign Languages in Management and Economics, Tourism & Hospitality Management, and Business Administration, is going to organize, from 15 to 17 October 2015, the 4th International Conference on Foreign Language Teaching in Tertiary Education IV: Economy and Foreign Languages.
Conference Theme and Topics:
The economic crisis has led to high unemployment in Greece and in the European South in general and therefore many young people leave their country in order to work in businesses either in Europe or on other continents. This mobility however, if regarded as a factor that promotes the professional competitiveness of young people, enriching their knowledge and skills abroad and allowing them to transfer their interlingual and intercultural experience to other businesses or back to their country, leads us to the conclusion that the knowledge of one or more foreign languages is one of the pillars of young people's creativity and adaptation in the workplace.
On the other hand, a great number of businesses appear to be deficient in their staffing with people who know foreign languages and possess intercultural and interpreting skills, thus losing business opportunities for agreements.
These data give rise to the following questions, which are some of the main issues in which the scientific community is invited to present relevant papers. Within this framework, the following questions are divided into three main topics:
1) Working environment and languages for professional purposes
2) The Institutional role of languages for special purposes
3) Teaching LSP and specialized translation
2nd Call for Papers:
Paper submission deadline extended till August 15, 2015.

The duration of each presentation is 15 minutes.
