Meeting Description:
We are pleased to announce that the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe will host the 35th Siouan and Caddoan Languages Conference (SCLC) in Marksville, LA this year from June 12 through June 14. The deadline for abstract submissions is April 30, 2015.
The Siouan and Caddoan language families of the Great Plains, like most other indigenous languages of the Americas, are understudied and in need of additional attention. The SCLC has aimed over the past three decades to rectify this problem through soliciting presentations on language description, theoretical linguistics, philology, and other topics relevant to the study of Siouan or Caddoan languages.
