Meeting Description:
The 8th Meeting of Formal Approaches to Japanese Linguistics (FAJL8) will be held at Mie
University in Mie, Japan on February 18-20, 2016. We invite abstracts from all fields of
theoretical linguistics on Japanese. Talks will be 20 minutes, followed by 10-minute Q&A
session. The proceedings volume of the conference talks will be published from MIT
Working Papers in Linguistics (MITWPL). Accommodation fees will be covered for selected
student presenters.

- Shigeto Kawahara (Keio University)
- Maria Polinsky (University of Maryland)
- Maribel Romero (Universität Konstanz)
- Akira Watanabe (University of Tokyo)
2nd Call for Papers:
We invite abstracts for talks and posters from all fields of theoretical linguistics on
Japanese. Talks will be 20 minutes, followed by 10-minute Q&A session. The proceedings
volume of the conference talks will be published from MIT Working Papers in Linguistics
(MITWPL).
Accommodation fees will be covered for selected student presenters.
Abstract format:
- Up to two single spaced pages (A4/Letter)
- 2.5 cm/1 inch margins on each side
- Minimum font size 12pt (Times New Roman)
- Examples should be interspersed throughout the text
- Must be submitted in PDF format
- Must not reveal the identity of the author(s) in any way
- Submissions are limited to two per author, with at most one paper being single-authored
