You are warmly invited to a morning of presentations by civil servants and advisers working in different departments in Whitehall and the devolved parliaments and assemblies who have language policy as part of their brief. We understand language policy broadly, covering the indigenous languages of the UK, community or heritage languages, as well as foreign language learning. We aim to map where the responsibility for language policy sits and to promote dialogue between the different departments. We are delighted that Baroness Coussins, Co-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Modern Languages, has agreed to chair the event.
