Announcing the Liz Hamp-Lyons Award for the Journal of English for Academic Purposes
JEAP proudly announces the creation of a new award to honour its founding Editor.
In grateful recognition of the service of Liz Hamp-Lyons to the field of EAP – from proposing this new journal to Elsevier in 2001 and encouraging BALEAP to support it as its professional journal, through her years as Editor from Vol 1.1 (2002) to Vol. 20 (2015) – the Journal of English for Academic Purposes announces a new award in her name.
The Liz Hamp-Lyons Award is available (although not necessarily awarded) each year, for the full length article in the main section of JEAP, or a shorter article submitted to and published in a proposed new section, ‘EAP research into practice,' judged to have the greatest potential to positively influence EAP curricula, materials, or assessment at the classroom and programme level, in the preceding year’s issues.
A short list will be identified by (1) nominations from the Editorial Board and (2) nominations from the BALEAP Executive. The final selection will be made by a Committee of two JEAP Editors and two BALEAP Board members. For the first three years of the award, Liz Hamp-Lyons will serve as Chair of the Committee.
Further information including the nominations and eventual winner(s) will be announced on the JEAP homepage, and we look forward to sharing this news with you in 2016.
Any questions can be directed to the Publisher: Christopher Tancock (c.tancock at elsevier.com).
