Description:
The English Domain at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) is seeking to
appoint a
Maître d'enseignement et de recherche 50%
(Permanent Teaching and Research Position)
in English Linguistics
Applicants should be able to teach a range of courses in English linguistics
covering core linguistics at the undergraduate level and have a research and
teaching specialisation in English Linguistics that extends and reinforces the
existing research and teaching strengths of the English Domain in pragmatics,
with a clear focus on the interface between language and cognition.
Academic requirements for this position are a completed PhD, with resulting
publications, and a substantial research project. The successful applicant
will be expected to teach 3 courses per year spread across the two teaching
semesters, to supervise BA and MA theses, as well as to participate in the
domain’s administrative tasks.
All teaching is in English. For administrative purposes a working knowledge of
French or German is required. The appointment is from 1 September 2016.
