Meeting Description:

The dynamic nature of Translation and Interpreting Studies that we currently
witness derives to a considerable extent from their interdisciplinary
dimension. For a few decades now they have been intertwining with disciplines
pertaining to applied linguistics (corpus linguistics, sociolinguistics,
psycholinguistics, discourse analysis and pragmatics, cognitive linguistics,
etc.), but also with traditionally remote-standing ones, such as computer
science. Such partnerships among disciplines oftentimes entail the engagement
of a diversity of conceptual and methodological aspects in a converging
manner. There are indisputable mutual benefits of interdisciplinary approaches
for the disciplines in contact which are enriched with new insights and
perspectives in the theoretical realm. But novel methodologies have also
emerged in applied studies, opening paths for a wealth of more in-depth or new
types of investigations.


Call for Abstracts:

The panel is especially dedicated to interdisciplinary concerns in Translation
and Interpreting Studies but welcomes papers on any topics within the
theoretical and applied areas of Translation and Interpreting Studies.

Abstract submission guidelines:

Abstracts should include:

1. The title of the paper
2. A list of 3-5 key-words describing the area and focus
3. The name(s) of the author(s) and their affiliation(s)
4. The e-mail address and contact details of the author(s).

Abstracts should be between 250-300 words and should be sent via e-mail
attachments to the following address SUM.brasov at gmail.com on or before 15 June
2016. You will be notified about the status of your proposal (acceptance/
rejection) on or before 1 July  2016.
