Meeting Description:
The Linguistic Association of Nigeria (LAN) is an academic association that
promotes research on Nigerian languages, the development of Nigerian
languages, and the study of linguistics and Nigerian languages in educational
institutions in Nigeria. Annual conferences of the Linguistic Association of
Nigeria (CLAN) feature on various aspects of research in and teaching of
Nigerian languages. The 29th edition of the conference will be hosted at the
University of Jos, Jos, Plateau State. The main goal of CLAN 2016 is to bring
together researchers on Nigerian languages and various areas of linguistics to
focus on aspects of research into the various languages and the Nigerian
linguistic space. It will feature paper presentations on research into topical
areas of linguistics and Nigerian languages and an Annual General Meeting for
mapping out strategies for the promotion and survival of Nigerian languages.
The theme for this year's conference is ''Language and Linguistic Diversity:
Documentation and Revitalization of Minority Languages for sustainable
development.'' Keynote Speakers for the conference will be announced soon.
Call for Papers:
Abstracts should not exceed 250 words and should be presented on two (2)
pages. The first page should contain the title of the paper, name(s) of the
author(s), affiliation, full address, telephone number(s), email address(es),
and the subtheme within which the author(s) would like their paper to be
discussed. The second page should contain only the title of the paper and the
abstract. Abstracts should be presented in Times New Roman font size 12,
single-line spacing, and sent as email attachments in both Microsoft Word and
PDF formats to admin at josclan2016.com or the email addresses of the conference
contacts. Abstracts could also be submitted on our website
www.josclan2016.com. The deadline for the submission of abstracts is Saturday
15th October, 2016. Decisions on acceptance of abstracts will be communicated
to authors as soon as such decisions are reached.
