Job Title: Postdoctoral Researcher in Child Bilingualism/Psycholinguistics
Job Rank: Post Doc
Specialty Areas: Language Acquisition; Psycholinguistics; Syntax; Bilingualism
Description:
As a postdoctoral researcher in the field of child bilingualism you will
participate in a research project on cross-linguistic influence in (online)
comprehension. The project entitled “The priming mind of the bilingual child:
simultaneous acquisition, simultaneous activation” is led by Dr Sharon
Unsworth and is funded by a Vidi grant from the Netherlands Organization for
Scientific Research (NWO). The overall goal of the Vidi project is to
investigate how two languages interact in the mind of the young child. More
specifically, the project investigates cross-linguistic influence at the
lexical and syntactic levels, in comprehension as well as production, across
three different sub-projects (this post-doc project, a PhD project and the
PI’s project).
You will design and conduct psycholinguistic experiments and analyse the data.
You will present the research outcomes at international conferences and write
at least three articles for international high-impact journals. You will work
as part of a team of senior and junior researchers. You will also supervise
MA/BA students and interns. And you will be involved in various outreach
activities at the local and national level.
