Meeting Description:
The 11th UK Language Variation and Change (UKLVC) conference will take place
from 29-31 August 2017, at Cardiff University, Wales, UK.
Confirmed keynote speakers are Claire Nance, Devyani Sharma, and Jennifer
Smith.
UKLVC is a biennial conference that provides a forum to present recent
research in language variation & change, sociolinguistics, dialectology, and
applications of these to other fields in linguistics (e.g. forensic
linguistics, psycholinguistics). The focus of the conference is language
variation, at all levels of linguistic structure (phonetics, phonology,
morphology, syntax, discourse, pragmatics), and across a wide range of
languages.
Call for Papers:
We invite papers from established scholars and students, both from the UK and
internationally.
Abstract submission is now open. Authors may submit more than one abstract,
but please note that we will only accept a maximum of two papers per author:
one as sole or lead author, and one as secondary author. Please submit
abstracts via Easy Chair (registration/login required) using this link:

Length: maximum 500 words, excluding title, authors and references
Abstract format: submit as PDF. Do not include authors' names in the document
Paper format: oral presentations or posters. Please specify your preference at
