Summary of Position:
Teach Undergraduate and graduate courses in Applied Linguistics and TESOL.
TESOL courses also serve early childhood education, special education, and
integrated language arts programs in the College of Education. Candidate will
contribute to the development of a Master’s Degree in Applied
Linguistics/TESOL.
The Department of English includes majors in literature, professional and
technical writing, and an individual curriculum program in linguistics; minors
in literature, professional and technical writing, linguistics, and creative
writing; numerous general education courses, including first-year composition,
for non-majors; master’s degrees in literature, professional and technical
writing, and many graduate certificates, including TESOL. English works
closely with the Beeghly College of Education on programs in teaching
secondary language arts and the newly revised Early Childhood Education
(preK-3) program.
Review of applications will begin on 1/16/2017.
Minimum Qualifications:
An earned Ph.D / Doctorate or ABD with completion by August 16, 2017 in
Applied Linguistics / TESOL.
Desired Qualifications:
Evidence of scholarship in Applied Linguistics/TESOL and two years of teaching
experience; potential for innovative curriculum design and expertise working
with complex curricula and diverse colleagues.
