Linguistic Field(s): Applied Linguistics
Call Deadline: 31-Jan-2016
Meeting Description:
The conference aims to encourage discussion between linguists and school teachers to investigate how formal linguistics can be applied to the teaching of any natural language (modern languages, classical languages and dialects). The main purpose is to stimulate a profitable exchange between formal approaches to linguistic facts and the way in which they are usually dealt with in school practice. A further aim of the conference is to elaborate new teaching proposals on the basis of linguistic reflection.
Call for Papers:
We invite abstracts for presentation at the workshop 'Linguistica e Didattica III' to be held at the Università degli Studi di Padova, Padua (Italy), 05-06 April 2016.
No theoretical framework will be favoured; anyway, proposals which are based on the concrete analyses of empirical data are particularly welcome.
We invite submission of abstracts for 20 minutes presentation and 10 minutes discussion. Abstracts must not exceed two pages, 12 point font size, including examples and references.
Abstracts should have a clear title but should not identify the author(s). They must be submitted anonymously in Word format.
Submissions are limited to 1 individual and 1 joint abstract per author, or 2 joint abstracts per author. Abstracts should be in Italian or English.
They should be sent to linguistica.didattica at gmail.com until 31 January 2016. The message should include the title of the abstract, the author(s) name(s) and affiliation(s), and the email address. Notification of acceptance will be emailed by 10 February 2016.
