Meeting Description:
We are happy to announce that the 11th Cambridge Italian Dialect Syntax-Morphology Meeting will take place at the Department of Romance Studies of the University of Vienna on 04–06 July 2016. The meeting aims to bring together dialectologists working on any aspect of the syntax and/or morphology of the dialects of Italy (including non-Romance varieties) and encourages all approaches – whether synchronic or diachronic, descriptive or theoretical (all frameworks) – to the regional languages and dialects spoken throughout Italy. This year CIDSM will feature a thematic session on the High German dialects spoken in Italy in collaboration with Prof. Alexandra Lenz from the Department of German Studies.
The official languages of the meeting are English and Italian (English only for the thematic session).

2nd Call for Papers:
Abstracts on any aspect of the syntax and/or morphology of the dialects of Italy (including non-Romance varieties) will be considered for presentation. There will also be a poster session. During the abstract submission procedure, please indicate (through the Abstract Classification drop-down menu), whether you prefer to submit your abstract for presentation or for the poster session only, or if you would rather like it to be considered for both. If your abstract is intended for the special thematic session, please select the relevant option.
Abstracts are invited for 20-minute talks (plus 10 for questions) or for posters. Submissions are limited to 1 individual and 1 joint abstract per author, or 2 joint abstracts per author. The abstract should include the title, but not the author’s name(s). Abstracts should be no longer than two pages in length (including examples and references), in 12-point font size.
The conference languages are English and Italian (English only for the thematic session).
Deadline:
Abstracts must be submitted no later than 5 February 2016.
Speakers will be notified of the results of their abstract review by 6 March 2016.
