Meeting Description:
1st ELI International Annual Language Conference
The English Language Institute (ELI) in King Abdulaziz University is
introducing “1st ELI Annual International Language Conference” from December
11-13, 2016, to provide a platform to the global community of language
teachers, administrators and policy makers to share latest research to
mitigate learning challenges and take the language education to new horizons.
Themes:
The proposed research themes for the “1st ELI Annual International Language
Conference” are:
1. Student Engagement in Language Learning
2. Effective Methods for Language Teaching
Objectives:
1. The conference brings together academic staff members, administrators and
policy makers of the global academic community involved in language teaching
to exchange ideas, explore chartered areas of research with a view to
addressing issues related to student engagement in language learning and
identifying effective language teaching methods.
2. The researchers, scholars and practitioners from academia present their
recent findings and discuss future trends, directions and new challenges
pertaining to thematic areas of the conference.
3. All abstracts, power-point presentations will be printed in conference
proceedings to maintain record of the conference.
4. A number of selected high impact full text papers will be considered for
the special journal issues. The paper selection will be carried out during the
review process as well as at the conference presentation stage. The final
decision for paper selection will be made based on peer review reports.
Venue: King Faisal Convention Centre, King Abdulaziz University Jeddah, Saudi
Arabia
Fees:
The proposed fee structure for participation in the conference is as follows:
1. Individual Participant US $250
2. Student Participant US $200
The conference is expected to be a financially self sufficient and not for
profit event. The estimated resources generated through the collection of
conference fee will provide enough funds to meet all requirements. Any savings
from the first conference will be used for the next.
Registration:
The registration for the conference will commence with effect from March 6,
2016 (Sunday). A conference website will be designed to process registration,
accept abstracts, papers and presentations.
Call for Papers:
Abstracts may focus on Language Learning and Teaching, Applied Linguistics,
TESOL and General Linguistics.
Abstract length: Maximum 250 words
Abstract format: PDF or MS Word
Please submit abstracts online through eli.kau.edu.sa.
Important Dates:
1. Announcement of the conference and call for papers: January 10, 2016
2. Registration begins: March 6, 2016
(Submit abstracts, papers & presentations at the time of registration)
3. Due date for registration: June 30, 2016
4. Acceptance notification: August 30, 2016
5. Publication of abstracts: December 11, 2016
6. Presentation of papers: December 11-13, 2016
