Meeting Description:

The KATE annual international conference is a venue which is attended by
hundreds of ELT professionals from all over Korea, Asia and the world. It
involves a 2-day program of invited speeches and over 200 talks, colloquia,
workshops, panel discussions and posters. The conference affords participants
an opportunity to meet leading theorists and practitioners, and exchange ideas
with fellow professionals from all sectors of ELT.

KATE was established in 1965 and is the oldest and most prestigious academic
association for English education in South Korea. The association is comprised
of over 3,000 members including professors, teachers, and practitioners from
all over the country and beyond. KATE holds an annual international conference
and an annual special interest group meeting targeted at teachers,
practitioners, and up-and-coming scholars. In terms of publishing, KATE
publishes the KATE Forum which is a newsletter for our members and English
Teaching, the foremost publication for English education in Korea which is now

The Korea Association of Teachers of English (KATE) cordially invites you to
attend the 2016 international conference, which will be held in Seoul, Korea,
from 7 to 8 July.

Theme: Current Perspectives on Teaching English: A Multidisciplinary Approach 

Venue: Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Seoul, Korea

Date: July 7 (Thursday) - 8 (Friday), 2016

Proposal Submission Deadline: February 10, 2016

Topics:

Proposals which focus on the conference theme will receive initial
consideration; however, all proposals on English language teaching including
the following topic areas are welcome.

- Approaches and Methodologies 
- Curriculum / Materials 
- Use of ICT in Language Teaching 
- International/Intercultural Communication
- Material Writing and Design 
- Second Language Acquisition
- English Language Testing 
- Teaching Young Learners
- Language Policy  
- Other Areas in ELT

Types of Presentations:

- Research paper (30 minutes)   
- Teaching demonstration (30 minutes)
- Poster presentation (60 minutes)

Proposals must include both a 250-word abstract and a 50-word biodata. They
must be submitted via the submission form link at
http://kate.or.kr/Conference/submit2015.asp by 10 February 2016. (For more
