Meeting Description:

The International Association of Scandinavian Studies (IASS) will be hosting
its 31st conference at the Department of European Languages and Cultures
(Scandinavian section) of the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, from 9
to 13 August 2016. The theme will be ‘The Transition between “the Nordic
countries” and “Europe”’.

Call for Papers: 

The organizers warmly invite researchers in the field of Scandinavian studies
from around the world, as well as any other interested parties, to submit
their proposals for an individual presentation or a thematic session. 

Proposals for 20 minute lectures in the form of abstracts (approx. 250-300
words) can be submitted via the IASS home page by the deadline of 15 February
2016. 

The conference website provides an overview of the ideas and topics that form
the background to the conference’s theme. The primary languages during the
conference will be any of the Scandinavian languages, with English as the
secondary language.
