Call for Papers:
The goal of the Congress is the interdisciplinary study of the problems
related to scripts, and the scientific analysis of these issues.
These issues are:
- Historical types of alphabets (Georgian, Albanian, Armenian) of the
Caucasus and development of these scripts
- Theories about the origin of the Caucasian scripts
- Caucasian script from comparative perspective
- Epigraphy in the Caucasus and beyond it
- Using of the scripts of the Oriental languages for the Caucasian languages
- Writing systems of Pagan era
- Alphabets of new literary languages
- United international transcription system
- Script - as a policy tool
- Semantic-etymological issues of the vocabulary related to writing culture
- Cryptographic systems of script
- Old systems of count and calendar related to alphabet
And so forth.
Application and the materials will be accepted until 21 September, 2016,
email: congresscom2016 at gmail.com.
A Georgian reporter should accept reports proceedings in three languages
(Georgian, English, Russian); a non-Georgian one, in two languages (English,
Russian). The proceedings will be published in three languages (Georgian,
English, Russian).
You’ll be informed about the inclusion of a paper in a program by 10 October,
2016.
