There is a new solicitation for the Documenting Endangered Languages (DEL):
data, infrastructure and computational methods
Program Solicitation, NSF 16-576.  This solicitation replaces NSF 15-567.  The
solicitation is online at http://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2016/nsf16576/nsf16576.htm

The solicitation is a partnership between the National Endowment for the
Humanities and the National Science Foundation, with the following NSF
programs and directorates participating:

Directorate for Social, Behavioral & Economic Sciences
- Division of Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences

Directorate for Computer & Information Science & Engineering
- Division of Information & Intelligent Systems

Directorate for Geosciences
- Division of Polar Programs

Directorate for Education & Human Resources
- Division of Human Resource Development

Full Proposal Deadline(s) (due by 5 p.m. submitter's local time):
- September 26, 2016

Submission Deadline for Senior Research Proposals and Fellowships Only

September 15, 2017 and September 15, Annually Thereafter

IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND REVISION NOTES

The following revisions are included in this solicitation:

- Removed Jane Aiken (NEH) as a Contact and replaced her with Stefanie Walker
(NEH).
- The Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grants opportunity (DDRIGs)
now is in a separate solicitation that has a submission date for proposals of
''Accepted Anytime''.
- Under Estimated # of Awards, changed the text from ''26-30 including up to
12 Fellowships'' to ''26-30 including 5 Fellowships''.
- Under Anticipated Funding Amount, changed the text ''$1 million from NEH''
to ''up to $1 million from NEH''.
- In the Award Information section under Special Fellowship Conditions the
following sentence was added for clarification purposes: ''The monthly stipend
rate is fixed; no itemized budget is required.''
- In the Proposal Preparation Instructions, under Special Information and
Supplementary Documentation, the Data Management information for Senior
Research Proposals and Fellowships had the following text added for
clarification: ''A summary of the solicitation-specific DMP requirements are
1) the archiving location should appear in the Project Summary; 2) plans and
methodology for the sustainable, long-term archiving of all data and a
discussion of interoperability with related materials should appear in the
Project Description; 3) PIs and Co-PIs with prior awards funded by either or
both NSF and NEH should report on data management under ''Results of prior NSF
support'' in accordance with the Data Management Plan for NSF SBE Directorate
Proposals and Awards 4) budgeted costs for archiving, including the ingestion
into the archive, should appear in the Budget and Budget Justification under
Other Direct Costs line G6; 5) a letter from the archive selected by the
project should appear in Supplementary Documents; and 6) the Data Management
Plan must appear in Supplementary Documents. For DMP Reporting purposes the
following sentence was added: ''The SBE Data Management Plan for SBE
Directorate Proposals and Awards includes information relevant to reporting
and is located at http://www.nsf.gov/sbe/SBE_DataMgmtPlanPolicy.pdf.''

Any proposal submitted in response to this solicitation should be submitted in
accordance with the revised NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide
(PAPPG) (NSF 16-1), which is effective for proposals submitted, or due, on or
after January 25, 2016.
