Subject: SSLA: 2018 Special Issue Call for Proposals
Studies in Second Language Acquisition (SSLA) is now entertaining proposals
for the thematic issue of volume 40, to be published in June 2018. Thematic
issues of SSLA focus on areas of current interest and are an excellent venue
to bring together in one issue numerous approaches to a problem or methodology
in the field of SLA. For examples, see previous June issues of SSLA. A
proposal should include a detailed rationale for the thematic issue and
abstracts (250-400 words) from the authors of the manuscripts.
Closing date for proposal submissions has been set as September 12, 2016;
other manuscript and production deadlines are listed below.
Important Dates for Considerations
September 12, 2016 - Proposals due in SSLA office
October 26, 2016 - Final decision reached
February 24, 2017 - Submission of first-draft manuscripts to SSLA via
ScholarOne
September 29, 2017 - All final manuscripts due, submitted via ScholarOne
Please feel free to distribute this announcement to interested colleagues. If
any other questions arise, please feel free to contact us at ssla at msu.edu.

The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Indiana University and
as such can receive donations through Indiana University Foundation. We
also collect donations via eLinguistics Foundation, a registered 501(c)
Non Profit organization with the federal tax number 45-4211155. Either
way, the donations can be offset against your federal and sometimes your
state tax return (U.S. tax payers only). For more information visit the
IRS Web-Site, or contact your financial advisor.
Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that
they will match any gift you make to a non-profit organization.
Normally this entails your contacting your human resources department
and sending us a form that the Indiana University Foundation fills in
and returns to your employer. This is generally a simple administrative
procedure that doubles the value of your gift to LINGUIST, without
costing you an extra penny. Please take a moment to check if
your company operates such a program.
Thank you very much for your support of LINGUIST!
