Duties/Responsibilities:
You will contribute to the Centre’s rapidly growing Linguistics portfolio and
actively engage with the Centre’s Research Groups and activities.
Skills/Experience required:
You will be an ambitious academic, with expertise in theoretical linguistics.
Applicants with a specialism in general linguistics, as well as one or more of
the following are particularly encouraged to apply: language variation and
change, sociophonetics, historical linguistics, cognitive pragmatics,
computational linguistics. This is an exciting opportunity for a Linguist with
an interest in curriculum development to play a key role in the expanding
provision in general linguistics at Warwick.
You will have a PhD in a relevant field. You will have an excellent record of
recent, high quality publications in top-rated journals (commensurate with
level of experience) and successful experience of teaching general linguistics
at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels. You will have solid knowledge of
theoretical linguistics pedagogy and able to contribute to modules that meet
teaching needs in Linguistics.
