Abstract:

Der Band präsentiert die Gesamtergebnisse des Wuppertaler DFG-Projekts zu
Sprachgebrauch und Spracheinstellungen von Jugendlichen im Schulalter in
insgesamt 9 Bundesländern. Mit einer durch Befragung und Beobachtung
gewonnenen Datengrundlage von über 1.000 Jugendlichen wird die bislang größte
empirische Untersuchung im deutschen Sprachraum vorgestellt. Sie vermittelt
einen Einblick in exemplarischen Wortgebrauch, ausgewählte Stilmittel und
konversationelle Handlungsmuster (Frotzeln, Lästern, Erzählen) sowie in
Spracheinstellungen Jugendlicher u.a. zu Typizität, Verwendungssituationen und
Gebrauchsbegründungen von Jugendsprachen bei Jugendlichen verschiedener
Altersstufen und Bildungsgänge zur Jahrtausendwende. Soziolinguistischen
Differenzen wird besondere Aufmerksamkeit gewidmet. Die Ergebnisse lassen
Sprachkompetenzen Jugendlicher in neuem Licht erscheinen und belegen die
Thesen von Jugendsprachen als Faktoren der Gegenwartssprache und zugleich der
individuellen Sprachbiographien.
