The Interdisciplinary Centre for Social and Language Documentation (CIDLeS)
cordially invites scholars working on minority and endangered languages in the
Iberian Peninsula to join us at the 1st International Symposium on
''Endangered languages and language varieties in the Iberian Peninsula:
Documentation and revitalization'' (LAPI 2016).

LAPI 206 aims to provide an interdisciplinary forum in which scholars can
exchange methodologies and experiences of best practice on language
documentation and revitalization in the Iberian Peninsula, and discuss issues
related to language diversity, multilingualism, new speakerness, oral
literature, language technologies for lesser-used languages, presence in the
digital world, language policy but also the role of performing arts in
revitalization processes.Anthropological Ling

Call for Papers: 

The abstracts should be focused on the Iberian Peninsula and be in line with
the following topics:

- Language diversity in the Iberian Peninsula
- Language documentation
- Oral literature and its documentation
- Language revitalization
- New speakerness
- Language technologies for lesser-used languages 
- Presence in the digital world
- Language policy
- Multilingualism
- Role of performing arts in revitalization processes

Abstracts should be no more than 400 words in length, include 3 to 5 keywords
and be sent to info at cidles.eu until March 31. Please include the following
information in the body of the email, but NOT in the abstract:

- Name of the author(s)
- Intitution(s) 
- E-mail address of the author(s)

LAPI accepts all the languages in the Iberian Peninsula. However, for
intelligibility and dissemination reasons we recommend the use of Portuguese,
Spanish or English. Each presentation will be 25 minutes long plus 5 minutes
for discussion.

Important dates:

Deadline for the submission of abstracts: March 31, 2016
Notification of acceptance: April 20, 2016
Deadline for early bird registration: April 30, 2016
Registration deadline: May 31, 2016
