Description:

One year, possibly renewable, postdoctoral position in the Department of
Linguistics at UCSD. The position involves working with Professors Rachel
Mayberry and Eric Halgren on an NIH funded project investigating the effects
of childhood language deprivation on the neuroprocessing of sign language. The
project involves fMRI and aMEG neuroimaging. Requirements include a Ph.D. in
Linguistics, Cognitive Science, Psychology, or Neuroscience, with a strong
background in neurolinguistics, familiarity with at least one neuroimaging
technique and MATLAB. Knowledge of American Sign Language is not required, but
a willingness to learn and the ability to communicate with non-English
speakers and research teams members with varying levels of technical expertise
is essential. Start date is May 1, 2016 or earlier.
