Meeting Description:

The Workshop on Complex Predicates in Iranian Languages will be held on
September 10-11, 2016 at the Faculty of Letters and Humanities, University of
Tehran, Tehran, Iran.

The workshop aims to examine complex predicates in Iranian Languages from
syntactic, semantic, pragmatic, morphological and phonological points of view.

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
- emergence of complex predicates
- complex predicates as light verb constructions
- idioms as complex predicates
- argument structure of complex predicates
- event structure of complex predicates
- active/non-active distinction and argument alternation
- phonological properties of complex predicates

Call for Papers: 

Guidelines:

- Abstracts may be no longer than 2 pages of A4 format with 1-inch (2.54 cm)
margins on all sides, single-spaced with Times New Roman font size 12 pt.
Examples are to be intertwined in the text in the appropriate place and not
collected at the end.
- Submissions are restricted to a maximum of one single-authored OR one
co-authored abstract.
- Abstracts must not reveal the name or affiliation of the author(s).
- Abstracts must be in English. Persian abstracts will not be considered.
However, the language of the presentations can be Persian or English.
- Abstracts should be submitted as a .pdf file with one word from the title as
the file name.
- The name and affiliation of the author(s) are to be included in the body of
the email.
- Please submit your abstracts to cpr.ut.2016 at gmail.com.

Important dates:
Deadline for abstract submission: May 20, 2016 (Ordibehesht 31, 1395)
Notifications of acceptance: July 10, 2016 (Tir 20, 1395)
Workshop: September 10-11, 2016 (Shahrivar 20-21, 1395)
