The National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics (NINJAL), Tokyo,
Japan will hold an international symposium on mimetics (also known as
giongo/gitaigo, ideophones, or expressives) on December 17-18, 2016.
Call for Papers:
Deadline for poster abstract submission: August 31, 2016 - 23:59 (JST)
Aims:
This symposium aims at establishing the common ground for discussions of
mimetics in theoretical-linguistic and typological perspectives. We invite
leading linguists and psychologists studying mimetics in a wide variety of
languages from both inside and outside Japan to submit posters presentations.
Posters can be presented either in English or Japanese. Abstract should be
submitted to: mimetics2016 at ninjal.ac.jp
Important dates:
- August 31, 2016: Abstract submission deadline
- September 2016: Notification of acceptance
- December 17-18: Symposium
