Meeting Description:

The XVII Conference of Italian Association of Applied Linguistics - Using
second languages - is open to contributions from the following areas of
research:

- Using second languages in the teaching of non-language subjects (CLIL,
university foreign language teaching, foreign language training for job
mobility etc.)
- Using second languages in professional communication (linguistic and
cultural mediation, company management, scientific, institutional and
multimedia communication etc.)
- Using second languages in technology (localization, assisted translation,
automatic dialogue strategy adaption etc.)
- Using second languages with people who have disabilities (hearing and vision
impairment, dyslexia, Parkinson's disease, mental or behavioural disorders
etc.)

Call for Papers: 

Guidelines for Abstract Submissions:
Abstracts for both proposals and posters are limited to 600-1000 words (not
counting the bibliography) and should be sent to: congresso at aitla.it by 15
July 2016. In your email please include the chosen presentation format
(individual paper or poster) and the name and affiliation of presenter(s). The
proposals will then be anonymized and sent to the Scientific Committee for a
blind review selection process based on the following criteria: 1. Conceptual
development and grounding in prior literature; 2. Methodological adequacy; 3.
Interesting findings.

Conference Languages:
Italian, English and French

Guide for Presenters:
Conference proposals will undergo a selection process by the Scientific
Committee. The Conference will also host a number of invited keynote speakers.
Individual paper proposals will have a 20-minute presentation session followed
by a 10-minute open discussion. Each poster proposal will have a 5-minute
plenary session followed by a more detailed discussion to be held in a
designated poster area.

Full Paper Publication:
Authors who are interested in publishing their contribution in the
Association's volume ''Studi AItLA'' are asked to send a full manuscript,
written in Italian, for a second selection process to congresso at aitla.it by 31
march 2017.
