Dear LINGUIST List subscribers,

It’s this time of the year again when we ask for your support to help run the
operation of LINGUIST List: https://funddrive.linguistlist.org/donate

I have been with LINGUIST for a few years now, first as an intern, and then a
programmer. While being a student at Indiana University, I started as an
intern one summer and worked on the MultiTree project, researching
Tibeto-Burman languages for their genetic relationships.

I loved LINGUIST so much that I joined the crew as a programmer after I
graduated from Indiana University in 2011, maintaining web and database
servers, and working on other technical developments for the operation. To
give a specific example, we have worked hard over the years to maintain our
mailing list server, which hosts nearly 100 linguistic mailing lists at
http://listserv.linguistlist.org. Our student editors have also worked
relentlessly to send out timely emails about conferences, job announcements
and various other topics. We wouldn’t be able to do any of that without your
support from previous years.

Your support is important to us to continue this effort. I am with LINGUIST
List because of your financial support last year. We really appreciate your
continued support to do our best to help you and the wider global linguistic
community keep up to date with the latest information in linguistics.

Here is the link to donate if you would like to do so:

Thank you,
Lwin Moe

The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Indiana University and
as such can receive donations through the eLinguistics Foundation,
which is a registered 501(c) Non Profit organization. Our Federal
Tax number is 45-4211155. These donations can be offset against
your federal and sometimes your state tax return (U.S. tax payers only).
For more information visit the IRS Web-Site, or contact your financial
advisor.

Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that
they will match any gift you make to a non-profit organization.
Normally this entails your contacting your human resources department
and sending us a form that the eLinguistics Foundation fills in and
returns to your employer. This is generally a simple administrative
procedure that doubles the value of your gift to LINGUIST, without
costing you an extra penny. Please take a moment to check if
your company operates such a program.

Thank you very much for your support of LINGUIST!
