The School of Computer Science and Engineering is one of the largest and most
prestigious computing schools in Australia. It offers undergraduate programs
in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science and

About the Role:

- $86K - $114K plus 9.5% Superannuation and annual leave loading
- Full-time, fixed term position - 1 year with possibility for further renewal
up to January 2019, subject to funding
- Appointment will be at level A or B depending on the successful applicant’s
experience and track record

The School of Computer Science and Engineering is seeking an exceptional
Researcher (Research Associate (Level A) or Research Fellow (Level B)) who
will undertake project-based research and development funded by Data to
Decisions Cooperative Research Centre (CRC). The aim of the research is to
develop and evaluate new techniques for constructing and maintaining
domain-specific knowledge graphs from vast amount of
structured/semi-structured/unstructured data sources. We are seeking expertise
in natural language processing, data mining, knowledge graph construction and
applications, and semantic web. 

About the Successful Applicant:

Exceptional applicants from all areas of natural language processing, data
mining, knowledge graph construction and applications, and semantic web are
encouraged to apply. We seek an outstanding researcher with a strong track
record of international standing and impact with peer reviewed research
articles in prestigious international journals and conferences. Evidence of
successful engagement with industry will be highly regarded. The successful
applicant is expected to collaborate with multiple end user agencies: the
appointed candidate needs to be adaptable to changing requirements, able to
work in a team, work under pressure of deadlines, and effectively communicate
research results to end users.
