Description:

The University of Reading seeks to appoint a Research and Outreach Officer to
coordinate the public dissemination and community outreach activities of
Bilingualism Matters at Reading – a branch of Bilingualism Matters. Founded in
2008, the Centre for Bilingualism Matters
(http://www.bilingualism-matters.ppls.ed.ac.uk) has facilitated the growth of
an international partnership network, with the aim of fostering dialogue
between academics and wider society.
Bilingualism Matters at Reading is part of the Centre for Literacy and
Multilingualism – CeLM (https://www.reading.ac.uk/celm/) at the University of
Reading, and it is responsible for its research and public engagement
activities.

You will have:
- A first class degree in linguistics, psychology, cognitive science,
education, or a related discipline
- A thorough understanding of language development and use in bilingual
children and adults.
- An excellent awareness of the linguistic, cognitive and societal issues that
are central to multilingual individuals and communities
- Experience of communicating research successfully to non-academic audiences
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills
