Call Deadline: 15-Feb-2017
Meeting Description:
The willingness to retake old and indicate new directions has always been a
central part of the raison d'être of scientific inquiry. Phenomena such as
language teaching and researching are no exception to this rule. However, the
emergence of novelties in the study and teaching of language is possible only
by building on the solid foundations of what has already been achieved. This
is actually where inspiration originates and exploration begins – on the
grounds of and in the gaps between the portions of the scientific legacy
stemming from the contributions of other scholars.
With a view to the above, the main aim of this conference is to bring together
researchers in the fields of linguistics, translation and teaching to share
their research achievements, discuss topics of interest and exchange views on
various aspects of English language studies.
Keynote Speakers:
Prof. Olga Dontcheva-Navrátilová, Masaryk University, the Czech Republic
Prof. Julia Hüttner, University of Southampton, UK
Prof. Ana Mª Piquer Píriz, University of Extremadura, Spain
Prof. Renata Povolná, Masaryk University, the Czech Republic
Call for Papers:
The list of topics includes but is not limited to:
- Technological advances in foreign language teaching and learning,
- Language acquisition and learning in a variety of contexts,
- Manifestations of linguistic creativity in speech, writing and translation,
- Translational problems and solutions of different genres of texts,
- Typical and atypical conventions of Academic Discourse,
- Synchronic and diachronic analyses of discourse phenomena,
- Nuances of communicating through English as a lingua franca (ELF).

other contributions are also welcome.
