Description:

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Swarthmore College
invites applications for a three-year renewable position as Spanish Lecturer
and Spanish Language Coordinator. 

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics, Spanish language pedagogy
or related field by the time of the appointment, fall 2017. Native or
near-native fluency in Spanish and English is required. The successful
candidate will teach Spanish language at all levels. At least three years of
experience as Spanish language coordinator is desirable.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to Spanish language
teaching, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills. The coordinator
will be familiar with the most recent teaching methods and will be experienced
with innovative educational technology. Coordination duties include but are
not limited to: provide goal-oriented leadership for the instruction of
language courses; assisting in syllabus design; overseeing the daily operation
of the language program; administering language placement; and developing
assessment initiatives, among others.
