Linguistic Field(s): Syntax

Meeting Description:

‘Movement' is posited as the solution for a wide variety of problems without
much analysis of what such a solution really means. The topic of this one-day
workshop is ‘criteria for movement’: given the general surge in the use of
movement as an explanation for possibly quite different phenomena, is there
some set of tests or other criteria that can be used to separate movement and
non-movement structures and/or to develop a more adequate theory of movement
types?
