Description:
Texas Tech University, a research institution with over 35,000 students, seeks
a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Spanish to start Fall 2017. We are
interested in hiring a dynamic individual to teach Hispanic linguistics at the
undergraduate and graduate levels. Preferred specialization would be in Second
Language Acquisition, Applied Linguistics or Bilingualism. Native or
near-native fluency in Spanish is required; responsibilities include an
ongoing program of research and a commitment to undergraduate and graduate
teaching. Service duties include program-building, as well as commitment to
extra-curricular activities. Service to the department, college, and
university is expected. Must have a PhD in hand by beginning of appointment.
