Description:

Reporting to TTS research manager, the research engineer will conduct
innovative research and development with focus on TTS Front-end/Back-end
technologies. As part of the TTS R&D organization, he/she will be contributing
to the development of text-to-speech technology for all types of markets and
platforms with focus on Asian languages.

Responsibilities:

- Casting and coaching of Voice Talents; recording monitoring.
- Designing and checking text corpora for recording
- Checking and annotating the speech database
- Testing and checking TTS voices to support the improvements
- Supporting our professional services teams and contributing to customer
project success.
- Assisting senior team members in research tasks.
- Contributing to the improvement, design, implementation, evaluation and
optimization of voice development tools and processes.

Required Skills:  

 - Fluent in English and could write high quality documentation. 
- Speaking at least two other Asian languages (Shanghai dialect speaker is
highly preferred).
- Experience with acoustic phonetics is recommended.
- Experience in TTS voice development is a strong asset
- Working in Windows environments comes naturally to you.
- Programming skills are a plus. Basic experience with scripting languages
like Perl or Python is a requirement.

Preferred Skills: 
- A creative project leader and a team player, you are willing to take
initiative, and you are goal oriented.
- A strong sense of precision and quality in your daily job.

Education:           

MSc or PhD degree in Philology, Phonetics, Computational Linguistics or
another relevant field.
