We invite all PhD students in linguistics and related fields to participate in the 2017 LOT Summer School, organized by the Netherlands Graduate School of Linguistics and hosted by the Leiden University Centre for Linguistics.
There are 18 courses on a wide variety of linguistic topics taught by researchers from all over the world, ranging from introductions to a particular subfield to highly specialized courses. In addition, there are 4 Research Discussion Groups in which the focus will be on the PhD's own work. The schedule and course descriptions can be found on our website: https://www.lotschool.nl/index.php/education-and-training/lot-schools/lot-summer-school-2017/schedule. You can also check our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/LOTLandelijkeOnderzoekschoolTaalwetenschap/.
The courses are open to PhD students and second year Research Master students who are affiliated with one of the LOT institutes and also to PhD students from other research institutes in the world. Participants are encouraged to present their work during the weekly poster session. They may present a poster with original work, try-out their poster for an upcoming conference, or present a poster from a previous conference. The LOT schools are international events, so the courses will be taught in English.
The Netherlands Graduate School of Linguistics (LOT) organizes and coordinates the training of graduate students in linguistics. Each year, LOT organizes a winter school in January and a summer school in June/July.
