Description:
A call for 3 three-year PhD positions is available for the PhD Program in
Cognitive Neuroscience and Philosophy of Mind, promoted by a consortium
between the School of Advanced Studies (IUSS) in Pavia and Vita-Salute San
Raffaele University in Milan.
The PhD Program in Cognitive Neurosciences and Philosophy of Mind is divided
into three main areas: (a) Theoretical Syntax and Neurolinguistics; (b)
Cognitive Sciences and Neurosciences; (c) Philosophy.
The PhD Program aims at training qualified scholars in both theoretical
reflection and experimental study. Research projects will be promoted both in
traditional areas which evolve through connections with Cognitive Sciences
(Linguistics, Syntax, Theories of computation, Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy
of Language, Epistemology of Pure and Applied Sciences, Ethical and Social
Issues concerning studies on Human Cognition, Public and Applied Ethics) and
in new and emerging domains (Neurolinguistics, Neuropragmatics, Social
Neuroscience and Neuroeconomics, Neuroethics). Thanks to their network of
prestigious national and international collaborations, the Institute for
Advanced Studies (IUSS) and Vita-Salute San Raffaele University are privileged
institutions for pursuing research in these highly interdisciplinary areas.
