Focus: The CoEDL Summer Schools are the flagship educational series of the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Dynamics of Language, open to students and researchers around the world. CoEDL Summer Schools draw on expertise across CoEDL's programs and nodes, other Australian linguistics departments, and our international partners to offer educational enrichment and catalyse new research collaborations.
This year’s CoEDL Summer School, with a general Typology theme, will feature eleven themed courses, on the state-of-the-art in African and Tibeto-Burman linguistics, processing from a typological perspective, the interface between Australian archeology, genetics, and linguistics, and many more topics.
Linguists of all backgrounds and interests are welcome.
Minimum Education Level: Undergraduate
Description:
The 2017 Summer School program offers courses in three streams over four days
(Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday). Each course consists of four 1.5 hour
sessions over the four days.
On Wednesday there will also be half-day workshops on topics such as FLEX,
PRAAT and ELAN, a panel discussion of open access publishing, and a session on
unsolved and pressing questions in the language sciences.

Registration Instructions:
Registration covers course selection and catering. Students and unwaged
attendees have a discounted registration cost. Accommodation costs are
available to select as part of your registration and include breakfast. You
will also need to indicate any dietary needs.
Please note that registrations will be accepted after 1st September until 20
November, but late fees will apply.
