Description:

As a Senior Research Scientist you will work on applying machine / deep
learning to challenging natural language understanding research problems that
have concrete impact on exciting real-world applications. Application areas
include increased automation of clinical documentation improvement, expediting
the creation of structured medical reports from physician-patient interactions
and increasingly intelligent, dialog-enabled virtual assistants /
collaborators for automotive and healthcare domains.
 
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and experimentation to solve problems related to Natural
Language Processing (NLP)
- Implement prototypes to test new ideas and algorithms
- Participate in the productization of NLP algorithms
- Analyze and improve performance of NLP algorithms
- Discussing and presenting ideas and results within the team, reporting
progress on a regular basis

Qualifications:
- Machine and deep learning (neural network)
- Natural Language Processing
- Strong programming and debugging skills; able to efficiently prototype
research ideas
- Experience assessing, analyzing and incrementally improving system
performance
- Ability to take initiative but also follow a plan and work well within a
team
- Good written and oral communication (English)
- Comfortable working in a Unix/Linux compute environment

Preferred Skills:
- Extensive experience in C++ and Python
- Experience with TensorFlow or Theano
- Experience in clinical language understanding
- Experience in research management

Education: Advanced degree (PhD) in computer science, computational
linguistics, applied mathematics, or a related field
