WICL-4: Cantonese Linguistics in the Pacific Rim: Theory and Applications

The 4th Workshop on Innovations in Cantonese Linguistics (WICL-4) will take
place on June 23 and 24, 2018, at the University of British Columbia,
Vancouver, Canada. The conference focuses on new advances in Cantonese
Linguistics, including new approaches to theory and data, methodologies, and
applications. New research on geographical variations, overseas speaker
communities, and pedagogical issues are especially welcome.

University of Washington


Call for Papers:

Abstracts are invited for 20-minute oral presentations related to innovative
research in any subfield of Cantonese linguistics and related disciplines.
Submissions are limited to one single-authored paper and one joint-authored
paper per person.

Abstracts must be written in English and on a single page, including examples,
figures, key references, etc.
Prepare two copies of the abstract in PDF format, one containing the name(s)
of author(s), affiliation(s), and e-mail address(es); and the other (for
anonymous review) identified by title only.

In the submission form, please provide the following information:
- paper title
- name(s) of author(s)
- contact information (postal and email addresses)
- affiliation(s)
- status (student or non-student)
- primary area(s) of linguistics addressed in the abstract (e.g., Phonetics,
Phonology, Syntax, Semantics, Pragmatics, Sociolinguistics, etc.)
