Description:
The University of Konstanz, with its "Institutional Strategy to promote
Top-Level Research", has been receiving continuous funding since 2007 within
the framework of the Excellence Initiative by the German Federal and State
Governments.
The Department of Linguistics at the University of Konstanz invites
applications for a W3-Professorship (permanent position) in Slavic
Linguistics, to be filled as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will be able to cover the full range of topics in
Slavic Linguistics and has a research focus on Russian in one or more core
areas in Linguistics. Research on further Slavic languages, as well as
research topics that complement the expertise of the department will be an
asset.
The candidate’s excellence is reflected, for example, by publications in major
linguistic journals, a second monograph, invited conference papers,
fellowships and awards (i.e., academic performance equivalent to a German
"Habilitation").
Cooperation with existing and planned research proposals at the department is
expected. Information on the research and teaching environment at Konstanz is

will ideally engage in collaborative research with colleagues in neighboring
disciplines, specifically Slavic and Eastern European Studies, as well as take
an active role in the development of curricula in these fields.
