Meeting Description:

This conference is designed to provide young researchers in linguistics with
an opportunity to present and discuss their research in a friendly and
intellectually stimulating setting. On 24 November, a Workshop on Language
Acquisition will be held with the invited speakers Ana Lúcia Santos
(CLUL-FLUL) and Maria Lobo (CLUNL-FCSH).


Call for Papers:

We invite postgraduate (Masters and PhD) students to submit abstracts for oral
presentation on any area of linguistics, including: educational linguistics,
historical linguistics, language acquisition, lexicography and lexicology,
morphology, phonology, pragmatics, psycholinguistics, semantics, syntax,
sociolinguistics, terminology and text linguistics. The abstracts should be
sent to jiclunl at fcsh.unl.pt until 31 March. Accepted papers will be allotted
20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion.

Submission Guidelines:

Each author may submit at most one abstract, which must be written in English,
since we expect the proceedings of the conference to be published. However,
Portuguese and English remain as the working languages of the conference. Two
versions of the abstract must be submitted: an anonymous one and an identified
one. Both versions must be submitted in Word format.

The abstract should be organized as follows:

- Title
- Author(s): name(s), affiliation, degree/attended course and email address
- Area(s) of linguistics
- Abstract (maximum 500 words), which should address the following aspects:
topic and its relevance, objectives, methodology, description of results
- Keywords (maximum 5)
- References (maximum 10).

The text should be written in Times New Roman, 12pt, with 1.5 spacing, on an
A4 page with 2.5 cm margins on all sides.

Deadline for submission of abstracts: 31 March, 2017
Notification of acceptance/rejection: 15 June, 2017
