Meeting Description:

The forum on Comparative Romance Linguistics invites you to submit
presentation proposals for the 2018 Modern Language Association Annual
Convention in New York from 4 to 7 January, 2018. We welcome a wide range of
participants and approaches to Romance Linguistics and invite the submission
of abstracts exploring any area of Romance Linguistics (theoretical or
applied) within any framework. Although preference is given to papers
addressing more than one Romance Language, all abstracts will be considered. 

The Modern Language Association annual convention is the largest scholarly
meeting in the humanities and brings together thousands of members to discuss
new research, participate in workshops, and build their professional networks.
The presidential theme for the convention is ‘states of insecurity’. For more
information about the convention, visit mla.org. 


Call for Papers:

The Comparative Romance Linguistics Discussion Group welcomes a wide range of
participants and approaches to Romance Linguistics and invites the submission
of abstracts for the 2018 MLA Convention exploring any area of Romance
Linguistics (theoretical or applied) within any framework. Although preference
is given to papers addressing more than one Romance Language, all abstracts
will be considered. 

Abstracts should be submitted in .pdf format, not exceeding 1 page (300-500
words), with a second page reserved for examples, tables and references.
Please include the presenter’s name, affiliation, and contact information in
the body of the e-mail. Abstracts are due by March 15, 2017.
