Meeting Description:
The 5th Gesture and Speech in Interaction conference (GESPIN2017) will take
place in Poznan, Poland. The Meeting will be organized by the Faculty of
Modern Languages together with the Faculty of English, Adam Mickiewicz
University in Poznan. GESPIN is an international conference on how gesture and
speech work together to achieve various goals.
We are happy to announce that the 5th GESPIN conference has been endorsed by
the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA) and is organized as
an ISCA supported event. ISCA members are offered discount rates of the
registration fees (more information soon).
The 5th GESPIN conference is an official satellite event of INTERSPEECH 2017
international conference which will take place in Stockholm, Sweden on 20-24
August 2017. The theme of INTERSPEECH 2017 is Situated interaction.
Call for Papers:
We are happy to announce that the 5th Gesture and Speech in Interaction
conference (GESPIN2017) will take place in Poznań, Poland.
Scope and Contributions:
The 5th GESPIN Conference invites papers addressing any aspects of the
interaction of gesture and speech, and how they work together to achieve
various goals. The scope of the conference includes but is not limited to the
following topics:
- Multimodal models of cognition and utterance production and perception in
face-to-face communication
- Semiosis in multimodal utterances
- Gesture and speech in conversation
- Coordination and timing relationship between gesture and speech
- Relationship between and integration of speech prosody and gesture
- Cross-modal analysis of multimodal utterances
- Speech and gesture: grammars and lexicons
- Multimodal language learning and teaching
- Gesture and speech in child development
- Multimodal and multilingual corpora
- Tools and schemes for gesture annotation and analysis
- Speech and gesture modelling
- Gesture recognition in humans and machines
- Speech and gesture production and perception: behavioural and
neuroscientific studies
Contributors are invited to submit full papers (4-6 pages), written in
English. After the conference, contributors will be invited to submit extended
versions of their papers in order to publish an edited volume or a special
issue of a journal.
We also invite contributors to propose workshops and special sessions.
