Description:

Assistant/Associate Professor (ASU JOB# 11848)

The Department of English at Arizona State University invites applications for
a full-time, advanced Assistant or Associate Professor in Theoretical
Linguistics. The anticipated start date is August 2017. We are particularly
interested in applicants with a research focus in semantics and a secondary
focus in syntax. The successful candidate will join a dynamic faculty working
to advance innovative research and excellence in teaching through its work
with the diverse and growing undergraduate and graduate student population at
Arizona State University.
Teaching opportunities exist at the undergraduate and graduate (Master's and
doctorate) levels.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Ph.D. in Linguistics or a related discipline by time of appointment
- College-level teaching experience
- A record of high quality research and publication in Theoretical Linguistics
and demonstrated potential to advance a compelling research agenda

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience teaching linguistics
- Demonstrated success meeting the needs of diverse student populations and/or
reaching out to diverse communities
